Newly Elected UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson Appoints Nigerian Lady As Minister [PHOTO]
A Nigerian Lady, Olukemi Olufunto Badenoch was on Saturday July 27, appointed a Children and Families Minister by the new British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Olukemi, a British Conservative politician and Member of Parliament (MP) for Saffron Walden arrived the UK at the age of 16.
The 39-year-old software and IT engineer studied systems engineering at Sussex University and also has a law degree. She is a mother of two and had previously worked in the banking sector for Coutts and RBS.
The Nigerian-born British politician tweeted in acceptance of the new appointment;
I’m humbled to have been appointed a junior minister at the DfE. A huge privilege to be able to serve and make a positive difference on a number of issues close to my heart. I look forward to working with the ministerial team and everyone at @educationgovuk
