Nigerian Entertainment Industry In 2018, a Peep Into 2019.” – Maxwell Ehidiamen
The frontpage rain values in every headlines; and every entertainer loves being headlined for premium gigs, events, shows, and movie premiere.
Last year (2018), a few celebrities were at the front burner of the mainstream industry with their effortless success and achievements that got people asking what the next year would look like.
A couple of great stuffs happened in both the Music and Movie industry. Let me excuse the fact that the music and movie industry stands on the fore whenever you made mention of the Entertainment Industry. This is owing to the fact that no other entertainment industry has enjoyed more success and global overview than the Music and Movie Industry in Nigeria.
In 2018, the industry recorded some sensational strength going forward. Most significantly was Burna Boy Who changed the narratives; crucifying that underrated glitz around him, and turning into an undefeated musical warrior. He stole the global musical community with his smash hit singles such as ‘Ye’ and ‘Gbona’. Teni and Perruzzi also played their part as best new arts on the front desk of music pundits.
We can’t also leave the likes of regular heavyweights such as, Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, and Olamide. They’ve worked so hard over the years not to allow the industry go stranded, supplying it with effortless and breathtaking contents that defines the grooving moment.
We can’t also talk about the Movie industry without mentioning amazing and global Movies such as ‘The Wedding Party’. The movie was nestled on the lips of millions of Nigerians who delightfully walk to various Cinemas nationwide so as to catch a glimpse of the movie. In the later days of 2018, Genevieve Nnaji shocked the International movie community with her highly rated Movie titled ‘Lion Heart’, first Nollywood Movie to appear on Netflix.
This year (2019), a lot of questions has been asked on what the narratives would be, and who would shift the paradigm. Let’s keep our fingers crossed in anticipation for a full fledged 2019.
