The unexpected death of actress Pat Ugwu has thrown the Nollywood industry into new sadness.
legendary actor Emeka Okoye announced the actress’s death on Wednesday on his Instagram account. She was 35 years old.
Okoye prayed for God’s protection and long life for his other coworkers and expressed grief that he would not be able to work with Ugwu again.
Emeka tweeted, “Rest in peace, sis,” to announce her passing. @patpat_ugwu Pat Ugwu so we’re not able to return to work? Whyooo death? Please, God 😭😭😭. Peace be with you, PAT. May the Lord hold your soul in his arms. God, please keep all of my coworkers safe, especially the ones I’m close to. This strange death is frightening . I proclaim life to everyone close to me this 2025 in the precious blood of Jesus. Amen.”
According to her family’s burial plans, the late actress will be laid to rest on February 6 and 7, 2025.

According to Naija News, Baba Gbenro, the founder and international president of the Ogbomoso, Nigeria-based Calvary Movies Drama Ministry, died in November 2024.
