‘None of These People Should Lead’ – Baba-Ahmed Kicks Against Coalition Talks
Prominent political figure Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has strongly criticized ongoing discussions around a possible coalition among Nigeria’s leading political parties, insisting that none of the current political actors involved deserve to lead the nation.
Speaking during a recent media engagement, Baba-Ahmed expressed deep concerns about the direction of Nigerian politics, labeling the current coalition talks as a recycling of failed leadership and an insult to the country’s democratic future.
According to him, “None of these people should lead. We can’t keep pretending that just because politicians unite for power, they automatically become good for governance. Nigerians must stop falling for this trick.”
His comments come amid growing speculation that top political parties are exploring strategic alliances ahead of the next election cycle. While such coalitions are often promoted as a means to unite opposition forces, Baba-Ahmed argued that they often lack ideology and serve only personal interests.
The former vice-presidential candidate also called on Nigerians to reject superficial alliances and instead focus on credible, visionary leadership capable of delivering real change.
