Okpebholo Committed to Restoring Transparency, Fairness, and Order in Edo Land Administration – Musa
The Edo State Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Andrew Musa, has reaffirmed Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to ensuring transparency, order, and fairness in the state’s land administration system.
Musa made this statement during a press briefing in Benin City, emphasizing that the administration is focused on eliminating irregularities, land racketeering, and corrupt practices that have long plagued the state’s land management process.
According to him, Governor Okpebholo has introduced several policy reforms aimed at restoring public trust, streamlining documentation processes, and ensuring that land allocation is done in a transparent and accountable manner.
“Governor Okpebholo is committed to building a system where land administration is guided by fairness, order, and integrity. No one will be allowed to manipulate the process or take advantage of the people,” Musa stated.
He further explained that the Ministry of Lands has been working on a digital land registry system to improve efficiency, reduce bureaucracy, and make land transactions more transparent. This, he said, would also help curb fraudulent activities and disputes related to land ownership.
Musa added that the government is determined to uphold equity in land distribution, ensuring that every citizen has access to the process regardless of social or political affiliation.
“Our goal is to make Edo a model for responsible and transparent land governance,” he added, noting that the reforms align with the state’s vision for sustainable urban development and economic growth.
The commissioner urged residents to support the government’s efforts by adhering to due process and reporting any form of corruption or misconduct within the land sector.
Governor Okpebholo’s administration continues to receive commendations for its decisive steps toward reforming key sectors, particularly in restoring trust and accountability in governance.
