Okpebholo Forms Panel to Examine Obaseki’s Administration
The committee will be officially launched at Government House in the state capital of Benin City on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
A 14-member State Assets Verification Committee has been authorized by Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo to look into the administration of his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki.
This was revealed in a statement released on Sunday by Fred Itua, the governor’s chief press secretary.
He stated that Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe will serve as the committee’s chair and that it will be officially launched on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Government House in Benin City.
As part of the governor’s plan to steer the state toward progress and responsible governance, the creation of a State Assets Verification Committee has turned into imperative,” the statement read.
“The Godwin Obaseki-led government only supplied a little amount of information in response to repeated requests for an extensive database of the assets and liabilities of the previous administration.
“A committee made up of esteemed Edo State sons and daughters has been established in accordance with the governor’s campaign pledge to guarantee probity, accountability, and transparency in governance.”
Frank Edebor will be secretary, while Anslem Ojezua will be deputy chairman.
Rasaq Bello-Osagie, Taiwo Akerele, Patrick Idiake, Kassim Afegbua, and Patrick Ikhariale are other committee members. Abdallah Eugenia, Patrick Obahiagbon, Kenny Okojie, Lyndsey Tes-Sorae, Abass Braimoh, and Fredrick Unopah are other members.
