OMG!! Asaba Residents Sent Packing From Their Homes As Flood Sweeps 6 Tricycles Into River Niger

Heavy rainfall, which resulted into flood in Asaba and its environs on Wednesday night, has swept six tricycles into the River Niger.

According to Daily Posts, the flood also sacked residents of Ifant Jesus, Phase 11, and DLA road in Asaba.
Although, no death was reported, it was learnt that the entire Ifant Jesus, Phase 11, and DLA residents were thrown into disarray as their houses and properties were taken over by the flood.
Thieves, in spite of the heavy down pour, defied the situation to take advantage of the affected residents’ predicament and robbed them at gun point.

Mrs Patricia Mokego, one of the victims at Infant Jesus road, said:
“the flood took over my property, destroyed my things, everything I have in my house was destroyed, and I have no place to be sleeping for now, the flood was too much, I am appealing to the state government to come to my aid.”
John Achei, a tricycle operator, and victim said:
“flood swept my keke into the River Niger from where I parked it, I could do nothing, it’s a problem to us here in Asaba, government should please do something to help us.”
