Oshiomhole Backs Tinubu’s Policies, Says Government Never Promised Miracles
Former Edo State governor and senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has thrown his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic and governance policies, insisting that the current administration never promised instant miracles to Nigerians.
Speaking on the ongoing national conversation around reforms and economic hardship, Oshiomhole said Tinubu made it clear from the onset that rebuilding the economy would require difficult but necessary decisions. According to him, the government has remained consistent with its message of long-term restructuring rather than short-term populism.
Oshiomhole noted that many of the policies being implemented are aimed at correcting deep-rooted structural problems inherited over the years. He stressed that meaningful change cannot happen overnight, urging Nigerians to exercise patience while the reforms take effect.
The former labour leader also dismissed claims that the administration misled citizens during the election campaign, maintaining that Tinubu was transparent about the challenges ahead. He argued that leadership sometimes demands making unpopular choices for the greater good of the country.
As debates continue over subsidy removal, exchange rate reforms, and cost-of-living pressures, Oshiomhole’s remarks have added to the growing defence of Tinubu’s policy direction by key figures within the ruling party.
