Pharrell Williams Becomes New Creative Director Of Louis Vuitton Menswear
To replace Virgil Abloh, who served in the position for three years prior to passing away, Pharrell Williams has been chosen the next creative director of menswear for Louis Vuitton.
Williams’ debut collection will be displayed at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris in June, according to the upscale company, which confirmed the news.
Since Abloh’s untimely passing in November 2021 at the age of 41, the position has remained vacant. Abloh, who assumed the position in 2018, kept his private battle with illness a secret for the majority of his time working for Louis Vuitton.
In a statement, Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton?s chairman and CEO, said that he was ?glad to welcome Pharrell back home.? Williams previously worked with Louis Vuitton in 2008, collaborating on lines of sunglasses and jewelry.
Beccari continued, ?His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.?
