Ogun State Police Command yesterday disclosed that five inspectors, seven sergeants and seven corporals serving in the state were dismissed between July 2016 and June this year for various offences.
It added that two Inspectors, five sergeants and two corporals were demoted in ranks, while 11 others were seriously reprimanded within the same period.
The Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, who made this known while briefing reporters at the command’s headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, on successes recorded in crime fighting and prevention, also revealed that four officers had been arraigned in court after dismissal.
Iliyasu said the disciplinary measures were taken against the affected officers to impress it further in the consciousness of people that “no erring police man will ever go unpunished”
