President Buhari Commissions ZIK Mausoleum In Anambra… 22 Years After The Contract Was Awarded [PHOTOS]
President Buhari commissioned the Zik Mausoleum in honour of Former President of Nigeria, Late Dr Nnamdi Azikwe in Onitsha Anambra State.
The project initiated by the Sani Abacha regime shortly after the death of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first President of Nigeria. The project was in recognition of Azikiwe’s immense contributions to national development and the country’s independence.
Azikiwe, a foremost Nigerian nationalist died on 11 May 1996, during the Abacha administration. He was 92 years old.
A Mausoleum was to be erected in his honour. A contract was awarded and work started 22 years ago, but unfortunately, the past administrations failed to complete the project, until Buharis’s administration. came in.
