Report: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘Does Not Want To Make Marquee Signings’
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly does not want to boost his squad with a series of marquee signings in this summer’s transfer window.
United are currently in a miserable sixth position in the Premier League table and will finish the 2018-19 campaign outside of the Champions League spots.
The Red Devils had been expected to spend heavily this summer following a disappointing season.
However, according to The Sun, Solskjaer wants to rebuild United ‘without marquee transfers’, instead favouring deals for younger players with potential rather than ‘the finished article’.
The same report has claimed that a new right-back and right-winger will be ‘a priority’ for the 20-time English champions when this summer’s transfer window opens for business.
United are once again being linked with a swoop for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire, while Swansea City’s Daniel James has also reportedly emerged as a target.
