African football great Samuel Eto’o has joined Turkish topflight outfit Konyaspor from Antalayspor.
The 36-year-old called it quit with the New Antalya Stadium outfit after three seasons, where he scored 44 goals in 76 games.
“We thank him for his contributions to the club so far and we wish him success in the next sporting event,” a statement from Antalayspor read.
At the Konya BüyükÅŸehir Stadium, Eto’o would be hoping to use his wealth of experience to help Mehmet Özdilek’s men swim out of the relegation waters.
They are placed 17th on the Super Lig log with 16 points from 19 games. According to them, the former Barcelona star will be unveiled on Wednesday at the Metropolitan Municipal Stadium press conference Hall.
Konyaspor continue their chase against the drop when they face Istanbul Basaksehir on February 4.
