Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has opened up about his long and painful struggle with a chronic ulcer that lasted for seven years. The Yoruba movie icon revealed the health challenge in a recent interview, shedding light on how the condition affected his personal life and career.
Ogogo explained that the ulcer wasn’t just a minor discomfort but a serious condition that disrupted his daily routine, limited his diet, and caused intense physical pain. “It was one of the most difficult periods of my life,” he said. “People saw me smiling on screen, but inside, I was battling constant pain.”
The actor, who has graced Nigerian screens for over three decades, shared that his condition worsened at one point, forcing him to take extended breaks from acting. According to him, stress, irregular meals, and lack of rest contributed to the deterioration of his health during that time.

I thought it was just stress or fatigue from work, but it became something I had to live with for years,” he added.
