The Dangote refinery has announced a decrease in the price of gasoline.
According to the corporation, the cut is a gesture of gratitude to Nigerians for their steadfast support in realizing the refinery’s vision.
The Dangote refinery stated on Sunday that the price of gasoline would be reduced for marketers from N990 to N970 per liter.
In a statement released on Sunday, Anthony Chiejina, the company’s Group Chief Branding and Communication Officer, revealed.
According to the corporation, the cut is a gesture of gratitude to Nigerians for their steadfast support in realizing the refinery’s vision.
The current price of Dangote Petroleum Refinery’s Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) has been lowered for the marketers from N990/liter to N970/liter.
“This is our way of thanking the good people of Nigeria for their unflinching support in making the Refinery a reality as the year draws to a close.
The statement said, “This is also to thank the government for their support, as it will enhance the measures implemented to promote domestic enterprise for our collective well-being.”
According to Mr. Chiejina, the refinery would guarantee Nigerians the highest-quality, sustainable, and ecologically friendly petroleum products without sacrificing quality.
“We are committed to continuing to increase production in order to meet and exceed our domestic fuel consumption, thereby eliminating any concerns regarding a shortage of supply,” he stated.
The founder and president/chief executive of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, stated in October that his refinery possesses over 500 million liters of gasoline, but the commodity has not been picked up by marketers.
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) demanded earlier this month that Dangote Refinery reassess its pricing policy and involve stakeholders. The IPMAN claimed that the refinery’s rates were higher than those of other suppliers, which made it hard for independent marketers to sell goods.
IPMAN and Dangote Refinery made a significant agreement last week to directly lift petroleum products for distribution to its members’ depots and retail locations around the nation.
