Tinubu to Inaugurate Renovated National Arts Theatre in Lagos
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will officially inaugurate the renovated National Arts Theatre in Lagos, marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s efforts to revive its cultural and creative heritage.
The National Arts Theatre, originally built in 1976, has undergone an extensive facelift under the Federal Government’s creative industry development plan. The project, overseen by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bankers’ Committee, was designed to reposition the iconic structure as a hub for arts, entertainment, fashion, and film production.
According to officials, the renovated theatre will not only serve as a symbol of Nigeria’s rich cultural identity but will also create jobs, empower creatives, and attract international investors. President Tinubu’s inauguration of the site is expected to highlight his administration’s commitment to promoting the creative economy as a key driver of growth.
