Tiwa Savage Reveals She Initially Doubted Mavin’s Hit Song ‘Dorobucci’
Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has revealed that she initially had doubts about Mavin Records’ 2014 mega-hit, “Dorobucci.” The singer made the confession in a recent interview, where she reflected on her early days under Don Jazzy’s record label and how the now-iconic track almost didn’t win her over at first listen.
According to Tiwa, when Don Jazzy first introduced the concept and beat of Dorobucci, she was unsure how it would connect with listeners. “I remember thinking, ‘What’s Dorobucci?’ It sounded funny to me at first,” she said with a laugh. “But Don Jazzy kept saying it would be a hit, and he was right.”
