Ubi Franklin Reveals Why Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid May Never Collaborate
Nigerian music executive and talent manager, Ubi Franklin, has sparked fresh conversations online after sharing his views on why a collaboration between Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid may never happen.
Speaking during a recent interview, Ubi Franklin explained that while the three Afrobeats superstars have individually taken African music to global heights, personal differences, industry rivalry, and fanbase wars remain key reasons why uniting them on a single project is almost impossible.
According to him, the competitive nature of the music industry often fuels unnecessary comparisons, making it harder for the artists to work together despite their individual brilliance. He noted that Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy have all built unique brands with strong identities, and merging their egos, sounds, and audiences would require an unusual level of compromise.
Ubi Franklin, however, stressed that such a collaboration, if it ever happens, would be historic and record-breaking for Afrobeats. Fans have since taken to social media to debate his statement, with some insisting that the unity of the three stars would elevate Nigerian music even further, while others believe rivalry is what keeps the industry vibrant.
With the global demand for Afrobeats at an all-time high, the possibility of seeing Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy together on one track continues to be one of the industry’s biggest “what ifs.”
