UN Reports Over 796,000 People Displaced in Gaza Since Mid-March
The United Nations (UN) has revealed that more than 796,000 people have been displaced in Gaza since mid-March, underscoring the scale of the worsening humanitarian crisis in the region.
According to the UN, continuous clashes and escalating violence have forced families to flee their homes in search of safety, many of them seeking refuge in overcrowded shelters with limited access to basic necessities such as food, clean water, and medical care.
Humanitarian agencies warn that the growing displacement has put immense pressure on already strained relief operations, making it increasingly difficult to deliver aid to affected communities. The situation has raised global concerns, with calls intensifying for urgent international intervention and stronger protection measures for civilians.
The UN reiterated its appeal for immediate humanitarian access and the protection of civilians caught in the conflict, stressing that the displacement of nearly 800,000 people within a short period reflects the severe impact of the violence on the population of Gaza.
International leaders and human rights organizations have also voiced alarm, urging all parties involved to uphold international humanitarian law and prioritize the safety of vulnerable groups, including women and children.
As the crisis deepens, the UN emphasizes that without swift action, the humanitarian situation in Gaza could deteriorate further, leaving hundreds of thousands more at risk.
