(WATCH): Atiku Arrives America With Saraki – After 12 Year
The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, January 17, arrived Washington DC with Dr. Bukola Saraki, Senate President.
Atiku who disclosed this via his official tweeter handle, was seen in a picture having a handshake with Saraki.
The former VP’s arrival in the U.S. may shock the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which has taunted him for his inability to enter the U.S. for over a decade.
Mr Abubakar has not visited the U.S. since 2007 when he left as Nigeria’s vice-president. He served under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Meanwhile, the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, DC, has reacted to the development.
A competent source at the embassy told the News Agency of Nigeria that the embassy was yet to get official information about the former vice president’s whereabouts in the US.
