We Backed Tinubu When It Was Tough, We’ll Stand With Him Now — Wike Declares Loyalty
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that loyalty should not waver simply because leadership has become less challenging.
Speaking during a recent public engagement, Wike stressed that his political alignment with Tinubu was not opportunistic, noting that support was firmly given when the journey was difficult, not when power became convenient.
“We supported President Tinubu when it was difficult. We will continue to support him now that it is easy,” Wike declared.
The former Rivers State governor explained that genuine political partnership is defined by consistency, not convenience. According to him, abandoning an administration midstream would amount to political hypocrisy, especially at a time when Nigeria is undergoing major economic and institutional reforms.
