YouTube Takes Down Tiwa Savage Song ‘One’
The visuals to Tiwa Savage’s hit song “One” appears to have been taken down from video-sharing giant Youtube after the Marvin Queen was accused of copyright infringement.
Towards the end of 2018, the award-winning singer released the single, ‘One’, a song where she expressed her gratitude for all that had come her way during the course of the year.
Trouble however started for the songstress, shortly after the release of the song, as a singer Danny Young called her out for lifting vital parts of his song Oju Ti Ti Won and using it in her single.
The development stirred controversy and conflicts on social media as music enthusiasts dragged Dannyfor claiming that the lyrics “Ododun la ro rorogbo, ododun la ra osa, odd dun la ro awusa” were his when in facts were words from a common Yoruba proverb.
Tiwa Savage, who kept mum in the heat of the controversy, went ahead to release the visuals to the song a few weeks later – and the disgruntled Danny subsequently vowed to file a copyright case against the Marvin singer.
It seems Youtube ‘courts’ – which is known for zero tolerance to any perceived case of violated copyright laws – may have granted Danny’s wish.
As of Wednesday morning (January 23, 2019), the video can no longer be seen on the streaming platform.
