FG Backs AFRIMA, Sets Up Committee for 2025 Event
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially thrown its weight behind the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), signaling strong support for the 2025 edition of the prestigious continental music event. In a strategic move to ensure seamless planning and successful hosting, the government has also set up a dedicated committee tasked with overseeing preparations for the global celebration of African music and culture.
This development was confirmed following a high-level meeting between AFRIMA organizers and key officials from the Ministry of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy. The government expressed its full commitment to promoting African talent on the global stage and reiterated the importance of AFRIMA as a unifying platform for the continent’s creative industry.
Speaking during the announcement, a government representative stated: “AFRIMA represents the rich diversity and immense potential of Africa’s music industry. We are proud to support this global platform and have constituted a committee to ensure that the 2025 edition will be one of the best the world has seen.”
The newly formed committee will be responsible for venue coordination, logistics, security, international relations, media engagement, and stakeholder partnerships. Its members include top government officials, industry experts, and representatives from AFRIMA’s international secretariat.
AFRIMA, often referred to as the “Grammys of Africa,” has grown into one of the continent’s biggest music events, drawing participation from over 50 African countries and featuring globally recognized artists.
