Guinness World Records Confirms Saheed Osupa, KS1 Malaika, Others’ Afrobeats Orchestra Record
Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that Dapper Live & Artists holds the world record for the largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats concert, following a landmark performance held in Lagos, Nigeria. The record-setting event featured Fuji legends King Saheed Osupa, KS1 Malaika, and several leading Afrobeats artistes.
The historic achievement was recorded during the Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, staged at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos, on December 16, 2025. According to Guinness World Records, the performance featured 85 musicians, making it the largest orchestra ever assembled for an Afrobeats concert.
The concert blended orchestral music with Afrobeats and Fuji, showcasing a unique collaboration between a conductor-led orchestra, a lead vocalist, choir, dancers, and dozens of instrumentalists performing in harmony. Guinness World Records described the event as a live orchestral performance based on an Afrobeats composition.
Beyond Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika, the concert also featured performances from artists including Rybeena, T.I Blaze, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee, and Dwillsharmony, highlighting the diversity and evolution of Nigeria’s contemporary music scene.
Following the announcement, Dapper Live & Artists celebrated the milestone, describing it as more than just a concert.
“We didn’t just stage a concert. We rewrote the record books. Culture. Precision. History.”
The organisers said the achievement reflects Nigeria’s growing influence on the global music stage and demonstrates how Afrobeats can successfully merge with orchestral arrangements.
The recognition by Guinness World Records has been widely celebrated by fans and industry stakeholders, with many describing it as another significant milestone for Nigerian music and a testament to the global appeal of Afrobeats.
The achievement further reinforces Nigeria’s position as a leading force in international music while opening new possibilities for innovative live performances that combine traditional orchestral music with African contemporary sounds.
