‘My Marriage Crashed Because I Had Over 10 Miscarriages’ — Actress Doris Ogala Opens Up
Nollywood actress and politician Doris Ogala has opened up about one of the most painful experiences of her personal life, revealing that her marriage ended after she suffered more than 10 miscarriages.
Ogala made the emotional disclosure during an interview on The Clarity Zone podcast, hosted by Nedu Wazobia, where she spoke about her relationships, marriage and personal struggles.
According to Ogala, she is currently single and had been married after her relationship with Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Liberation City.
She revealed that although her relationship with the cleric lasted from 2017 to 2019, she later got married, but the marriage eventually collapsed in 2022.
The actress attributed the breakdown of the marriage to the emotional and personal difficulties surrounding her repeated pregnancy losses.
“My marriage still crashed in 2022 because I had over 10 miscarriages.”
Ogala became visibly emotional while recounting the experience, giving viewers a glimpse into the difficult period she endured.
Repeated pregnancy loss can be an extremely difficult experience emotionally and physically, and Ogala’s revelation highlights the personal struggles that can remain hidden behind a public figure’s career.
Rather than presenting her story as simply a failed relationship, the actress spoke about the circumstances that contributed to the collapse of her marriage and the pain she experienced during that period.
Her disclosure has since generated reactions from Nigerians, with many expressing sympathy and encouraging greater empathy toward women who experience pregnancy loss.
Beyond her acting career, Ogala has also become increasingly involved in Nigerian politics.
She is currently seeking to become the Governor of Abia State, describing her decision to contest as a divine mandate. She has previously served as a Special Adviser in the state government.
During the same podcast appearance, Ogala expressed confidence in her political ambition and said she believes she can provide better leadership for Abia State.
Her political aspirations have therefore added another dimension to her public profile as she moves from entertainment into the political arena.
Despite the painful experience she described, Ogala confirmed that she is currently single.
Her revelation about her marriage has also opened up broader conversations about miscarriage, marriage pressure, grief and the emotional challenges women can face when pregnancy complications affect relationships.
For Ogala, the experience remains part of her personal journey, but she is now focused on her future, including her political ambitions and efforts to serve the people of Abia State.
