Adekunle Gold Announces Return of ‘The Greatest Showman’ for December 26
Nigerian Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold has announced his return to the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Theatre, in Lagos, with his headline concert, The Greatest Showman, on December 26, 2026.
The concert will see the singer return to the iconic venue one year after making history as the first artiste to sell out its main auditorium with his December 26, 2025 performance.
The upcoming edition is expected to deliver another elaborate live music experience, combining Adekunle Gold’s catalogue with orchestral arrangements and live instrumentation.
According to the event’s ticket information, the concert will feature the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) Orchestra alongside Adekunle Gold’s live band, The 79th Element.
The show is scheduled to run from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with a black-tie dress code for attendees.
The organisers are promoting the event as more than an ordinary concert, promising a musical experience that blends orchestral performances with Afrobeats and the singer’s biggest records.
Adekunle Gold’s December 2025 performance at the renovated National Theatre was a major moment in his career.
The concert, which celebrated his Fuji album and musical journey, featured a 55-piece MUSON Orchestra and his band, The 79th Element.
It also attracted surprise appearances from Olamide, Davido, Adewale Ayuba and Yinka Ayefele, adding to the excitement of the night.
The singer subsequently received commemorative plaques recognising him as the first artiste to sell out the venue’s 3,560-capacity main auditorium.
The 2026 edition is scheduled for Saturday, December 26, at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts in Lagos.
According to the official ticketing information, presale begins on Thursday, November 5, at 10:00 a.m. and closes on Friday, November 6, at 9:00 a.m. General ticket sales open on Friday, November 6, at 10:00 a.m.
The event is listed to begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m.
With his return to the same venue on the same date, Adekunle Gold is looking to recreate the atmosphere of last year’s landmark performance and make this year’s Boxing Day another memorable moment for his fans.
