Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye takes on a new challenge with the upcoming film The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, combining her acting talent with behind-the-camera responsibilities as an executive producer.
In the production, Ademoye plays Iya Femi, adding another notable character to her growing list of screen performances.
The actress expressed excitement about being part of the project, describing the experience as special from beginning to end.
Her involvement as executive producer also highlights her growing influence beyond acting, as she continues to expand her presence in film production and storytelling.
The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives has already attracted international attention, with screenings at two film festivals in Toronto and London that are recognised as Oscar-qualifying festivals.
The screenings have helped introduce the production to international audiences and generated interest ahead of its African premiere.
The film is scheduled to have its African premiere on November 29, 2026.
Following its African premiere, the film is scheduled to open in cinemas across Nigeria and other West African countries on December 4.
Audiences in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada are expected to see the film from December 11.
The release schedule positions the production for audiences across Africa and the diaspora, extending its reach beyond the Nigerian cinema market.
Ademoye has continued to strengthen her position in Nollywood through acting and film production.
Beyond her performances in cinema releases and digital productions, she has increasingly taken on creative and executive responsibilities, giving her greater involvement in the stories being developed for audiences.
Her role in The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives represents another step in that direction, as she combines her on-screen appearance with an executive production role.
With the African premiere approaching, attention will now turn to the film’s reception among Nigerian and international audiences.
