Chocolate City Files ₦50 Million Lawsuit Against Odumodublvck Over Alleged Backstage Assault

Nigerian music powerhouse Chocolate City has instituted a ₦50 million lawsuit against rapper Odumodublvck over allegations that he assaulted one of the label’s employees during the 2025 Flytime Festival in Lagos. The case has been filed before the High Court of Lagos State.

According to court documents, the claimant, who serves as Chocolate City’s Project Manager and Public Relations Officer, alleged that the incident occurred on December 22, 2025, backstage at the Eko Convention Centre while he was carrying out official duties in support of a Chocolate City artiste performing at the event.

The lawsuit claims that Odumodublvck approached the staff member, questioned him about his affiliation with Chocolate City, and allegedly struck him in the face before pushing him and issuing threats. The claimant further alleged that the confrontation continued until security personnel intervened.

The claimant stated that he later received treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where he was reportedly diagnosed with facial and neck pain, recurrent headaches, body discomfort, and psychological trauma. Medical professionals allegedly advised him to rest and suspend work activities during his recovery.

In the suit, the claimant is seeking ₦50 million in damages, citing medical expenses, loss of income, missed professional opportunities, and emotional distress allegedly resulting from the incident. The filing also states that the injuries prevented him from travelling overseas with a Chocolate City artiste during the festive period, leading to additional financial losses.

The legal action marks the latest development in the dispute between the rapper and the music label. At the time of reporting, Odumodublvck had not publicly responded in court to the specific allegations contained in the civil suit, and the claims remain allegations that will be determined through the judicial process.

The case has generated significant reactions across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with fans and stakeholders closely monitoring the proceedings as they unfold.
