DJ Chicken Calls Seyi Tinubu ‘Daddy,’ Adopts His Photo After Prison Release

Controversial Nigerian content creator DJ Chicken, whose real name is Ademola Abiodun, has sparked widespread reactions on social media after publicly praising Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, shortly after regaining his freedom from detention.

Following his release from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after spending nearly two weeks in custody, DJ Chicken made noticeable changes to his Instagram account. He replaced his profile picture with a photograph of Seyi Tinubu and shared the same image on his Instagram Story with the caption:

“Hmm ddddy.”

In a video announcing his release, the content creator also expressed gratitude to the Nigerian government, Seyi Tinubu, and President Bola Tinubu.

“I’m back… Freedom at last. God bless the Nigerian government, God bless Seyi Tinubu, and our president. I love you guys. Freedom is good,” he said.

DJ Chicken had been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court on allegations including offences under the Cybercrimes Act, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and allegedly making threats against Seyi Tinubu. The charges stemmed from a viral video he posted on social media.

Before his release, the influencer’s sister had publicly appealed for intervention, saying the family hoped for mercy and assistance in securing his freedom.

The dramatic change in DJ Chicken’s public stance has generated mixed reactions online. While some social media users interpreted his actions as a sign of gratitude after his release, others viewed them as an attempt to distance himself from the controversy that led to his arrest.
