My stand, my reasoning – Ayodele Awolaja

First of all, I am of the Yoruba tribe, and very proud of my root! Not being tribalistic, I married from the Delta-Igbo origin and paid the full bride price.
Secondly, I root for PO as my presidential candidate, and really, I would have loved him to become the president-elect! Clearly, the election was rigged! This is not a hidden truth! One evidence is the APC’s win in Rivers state. How come with that margin!? Abeg, we must check INEC’s BVAS! Spare me of all other stories, please. The election was rigged. Simple. I am unapologetic about this. And, please, don’t drag me into saying “congratulations” to our APC family. Even the celebrations for the “win” is not so much loud, you’ll agree. But until the case is settled in the court, Asiwaju remains the president-elect!
For Lagos guber election. My stand is clear! Many people who will vote Rhodes might not have heard that name before until LP came. Don’t get carried away with the emotions you have for PO to select a leader. Check critically to be sure he can handle the job well. For me, I still go for SanwoOlu! And, I think he will still win. The point is we may not have seen his works in Lagos, as I believe e dey follow his Oga at the top for first term and he no wan fall him hand. It is said that It is wiser to deal with someone or something familiar, even though you do not like the person or thing than to deal with someone or something you do not know that might be worse. “Let me leave am like that, boys can cook!”
For Lagos ownership! Abeg, spare me… I cannot come and crack my brain… I just googled Wikipedia… No stress abeg!
“Lagos is a Yoruba state. Named for the city of Lagos, the most populous city in Africa, the state was formed from the Western Region and the former Federal Capital Territory on 27 May 1967.”
However true this is, Lagos is now a cosmopolitan state. Anybody from anywhere can now become a Governor! One of the criteria, in my opinion, will sha be that you must be able to communicate in Yoruba language and you must have, at least, your secondary school education in Lagos. Lobatan! Luckily, many of us relate and speak wella in Yoruba language. Why then wouldn’t I vote for Gbadebo for these reasons? E ma je ki a kan ju la’be gbigbona! His time shall come. But for now, let’s apply caution oo.
For me, I will prefer PDP in Oyo State for the Guber to continue. I desire he completes the good job we are seeing there.
In Ogun State, I would prefer ADC candidate.
By the way, I have an SDP candidate vying for a seat in the State House of Assembly in Oyo State. This one has got my vote!
Generally, State politics is very peculiar and different from one state to another. We just need to get it right without sentiments. According to the peculiarity of each state, must we cast our vote. Shikena!
Lastly, I stand against anyone threatening the peace of Lagos come this election. I believe they are unwise and unlearned! They are just ranting. Let them know that soldiers never finish from the streets of Lagos!🤔
He that has an ear, let him hear!
Ayodele Awolaja writes his mind!
