Solari Slams Weak Madrid In Leganes Loss
Santiago Solari admitted that his Real Madrid side were weak in their 1-0 Copa del Rey loss to Leganes.
The first leg 3-0 home win for Real Madrid was enough to send them through to the next stage, going through 3-1 on aggregate.
Solari started Isco in the encounter, with Marcelo playing on the wing, as Madrid struggled to create anything in attack in the first half.
“A weak performance, above all the first half,” he told a news conference.
“They all needed to get playing time, they got it. We got through the tie, but the performance was weak.
“Sometimes we try things and if they do not work, we try to improve them.
“We have lacked depth. We paid not having a specific reference in attack.”
