Tinubu to Inaugurate Opebi–Mende Link Bridge This Week – LASG
The Lagos State Government (LASG) has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will inaugurate the Opebi–Mende link bridge this week, a major infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity in Lagos.
The bridge, which connects Opebi in Ikeja to Mende in Maryland, is expected to significantly reduce travel time for commuters navigating the busy corridors within the state. It also forms part of broader efforts by the government to enhance urban mobility and decongest key routes.
According to officials, the project is designed to provide an alternative route for motorists, thereby easing pressure on existing roads and improving traffic flow in one of Lagos’ busiest areas.
The inauguration by President Tinubu highlights the importance of the project within the state’s infrastructure development agenda. It also underscores ongoing collaboration between federal and state authorities in delivering critical projects.
Residents and commuters have expressed optimism about the bridge’s impact, with many anticipating smoother travel and reduced gridlock once it becomes fully operational.
The Opebi–Mende link bridge is one of several initiatives aimed at addressing Lagos’ transportation challenges, as the state continues to invest in road networks and urban development.
As the commissioning date approaches, attention remains on how the new infrastructure will transform daily commuting and contribute to economic activity in the area.
