Chelsea Set New £100m Asking Price for Pedro Neto as Three EPL Heavyweights Circle
Chelsea have reportedly set a new £100 million asking price for Pedro Neto amid growing interest in the Portuguese winger from several Premier League heavyweights.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs reported to have shown interest in the 26-year-old, creating the possibility of a major transfer battle before the summer window closes.
Chelsea’s valuation represents a significant increase from the £70 million figure previously reported earlier this month. Manchester City had been informed of that price during their initial interest in the winger.
Reports now indicate that Chelsea value Neto at close to £100 million, partly because of the rapidly rising fees being paid for elite wide players across Europe and the Premier League.
The Blues signed Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2024 for around £54 million, and his performances have helped maintain his value. He has recorded 19 goals and 19 assists in 103 appearances for Chelsea.
Manchester City are believed to be particularly interested in Neto as they assess their attacking options.
City manager Enzo Maresca is familiar with the winger from his time at Chelsea, potentially adding another layer to the transfer speculation. Neto could become a target if City’s plans to move Brazilian winger Savinho to Tottenham progress.
Arsenal have also reportedly entered the race, while Tottenham are monitoring the situation as they continue to strengthen their squad.
Despite the growing speculation, Chelsea are not necessarily looking to push Neto out of Stamford Bridge.
New manager Xabi Alonso has used the Portuguese international in different roles during pre-season, including deploying him as a right wing-back in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Real Sociedad.
That tactical flexibility could make Neto even more valuable to Alonso as he prepares his squad for the new Premier League campaign.
Chelsea’s reported £100 million valuation therefore appears to be designed to ensure that any interested club pays a premium for the player rather than securing him cheaply.
With multiple Premier League clubs reportedly interested, Chelsea could find themselves in a strong negotiating position.
The club’s new valuation also reflects the increasingly expensive market for attacking players, with other recent deals involving high-profile wingers reaching or exceeding the £100 million mark.
For now, Neto remains a Chelsea player, but with the transfer window still open, his future is one of the situations worth monitoring closely.
