“My Husband Is a Hustler” — Kamo State’s Wife Esther Shares Sacrifices Behind Star Lomo Movie
Kamo State’s wife, Esther Mide, has opened up about the sacrifices and challenges her husband endured while working on his debut cinema movie, Star Lomo.
Esther shared the emotional message following the premiere of the movie on Sunday, September 20, describing the experience as one that involved sleepless nights, long days and intense pressure.
According to her, she witnessed firsthand how Kamo State continued to push himself despite the difficulties surrounding the production.
In an emotional Instagram post, Esther praised her husband for refusing to give up on his dream.
She said Kamo consistently showed up, worked hard and gave his all to the project despite the pressure that came with bringing Star Lomo to the big screen.
“He kept showing up, kept pushing, kept working, and kept giving his all. My husband is truly a hustler, and I am so proud of the man he is and the way he never gives up on his dreams.”
Esther’s message offered a glimpse into the less visible side of the movie-making process, highlighting the personal commitment and sacrifices that went into the project.
Beyond the long working hours, Esther revealed that faith also played an important role in Kamo’s journey.
She recalled nights when the couple prayed together and occasions when Kamo prayed alone before going to sleep, committing the movie, its production team and the entire journey to God.
For Esther, seeing Star Lomo eventually premiere was a reminder that the sacrifices and prayers made during the production had culminated in something tangible.
She also prayed for the movie to open new doors for her husband as he takes another step in his entertainment career.
Star Lomo marks an important milestone for Kamo State, who has built his career through comedy skits and acting before venturing further into cinema production.
The movie’s premiere on September 20 attracted attention from entertainment personalities, including filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele, who has maintained a close relationship with Kamo and his family.
Kamo previously addressed rumours of a disagreement between himself and Akindele, explaining that she was unable to attend the movie premiere because she was outside Nigeria at the time. He maintained that there was no rift between them.
Kamo State, whose real name is Akinyoola Ayoola, married Esther Mide in December 2024 after proposing to her earlier that year.
The couple welcomed their first child in April 2025, and they have continued to share aspects of their family journey with fans online.
Esther’s latest tribute therefore goes beyond celebrating a movie premiere. It also reflects the personal support she says she provided while watching her husband navigate the pressure of turning his cinematic ambition into reality.
