Ayra Starr Debuts at No. 4 on Billboard World Albums Chart With ‘Starrgirl’
Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has achieved another major international milestone as her latest album, Starrgirl, debuts at No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
The achievement marks Ayra Starr’s first appearance on the Billboard World Albums chart and comes less than two weeks after the album’s release. The chart is for the week ending August 29, 2026.
Released on August 14, 2026, through Mavin Records and Republic Records, Starrgirl entered the chart behind three K-pop projects.
Stray Kids’ This & That occupies No. 1, followed by CORTIS’ GREEN GREEN at No. 2 and ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part.5 at No. 3. South African singer Tyla’s APOP* sits at No. 5, immediately behind Ayra Starr.
Starrgirl is Ayra Starr’s third studio album, following her 2021 debut 19 & Dangerous and 2024’s The Year I Turned 21.
The 16-track project features an impressive mix of Nigerian and international collaborators, including Wizkid, Rema, ZAYN, Leon Thomas, kwn, Danny Ocean and Theodora.
The album’s international collaborations have further strengthened Ayra Starr’s growing presence beyond the African music market.
The Billboard milestone adds to an already impressive early run for Starrgirl.
The album has reportedly reached No. 8 on the UK R&B Albums chart, No. 27 on the UK Album Downloads chart and No. 100 on France’s SNEP Albums chart. In Nigeria, it topped the Spotify album chart and achieved multiple No. 1 positions on Apple Music in different countries.
These performances underline the increasingly international audience for Ayra Starr’s music.
Since breaking through with “Bloody Samaritan” in 2021, Ayra Starr has steadily developed into one of Nigeria’s most prominent young global music stars.
Her Starrgirl Billboard debut represents another important step in that journey, particularly because it places an Afrobeats project among the week’s biggest-selling world music albums in the United States.
The achievement also comes shortly after Don Jazzy praised Ayra Starr, saying discovering her Instagram freestyle had changed his life and describing her as his “Starrgirl.”
With Starrgirl now sitting comfortably inside the Billboard World Albums Top 5, Ayra Starr has added another significant international milestone to her growing career.
