“Every Venue Will Sell Out”: Davido Says He Would Charge $500,000 Per Show on Wizkid Joint Tour
Afrobeats superstar Davido has expressed confidence that a joint international tour with fellow Nigerian singer Wizkid would attract massive audiences, saying he would charge $500,000 for each performance.
Davido made the revelation during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he discussed the possibility of recording music and embarking on a joint tour with Wizkid.
According to the singer, although he is unsure whether a collaborative song between them would become a major hit, he believes a tour featuring both artists would be a commercial success.
“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop,” Davido said.
However, he expressed greater confidence in the prospect of touring together.
“If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out,” he added.
The singer also disclosed that he and Wizkid have not recorded a song together in approximately 10 years.
He explained that their lack of musical collaboration was not necessarily because they could not work together, but because they had not been in the same mental space to create music.
Davido’s comments have renewed conversations about a possible partnership between two of Afrobeats’ biggest international names.
Davido also reflected on the long-running rivalry between their fan bases and past disagreements involving the two music stars.
Speaking about moving beyond personal differences, he suggested that maturity had changed how he viewed the situation.
“I felt that way at some point, but not anymore, and it takes a great man to admit that,” he said.
The relationship between both singers has attracted public attention for years, with social media exchanges and competition between their supporters frequently fuelling discussions.
Although Davido has expressed interest in the commercial potential of a joint tour, neither singer has announced a confirmed tour schedule or dates.
The comments have nevertheless reignited fans’ hopes of seeing the two Afrobeats heavyweights share the stage for a series of international concerts.
For now, the proposed tour remains a possibility rather than a confirmed project.
